Erich Fichtner's creations express his approach to design - simplicity of line and material, integrity of structure and attention to function and detail. Largely self-taught, Erich has been working with native and exotic timber as well as other materials for three decades. He has established his reputation in the United States as a premier designer and maker of furniture for yacht builders and owners as well as for residential clients. Now working in Ireland, he often incorporates in his designs the subtle curved elements inspired by his exposure to the boatbuilding esthetic.

Erich's focus is on combining native timbers, often using more exotic accent materials, with traditional joinery to produce unique contemporary furniture as well as modern adaptations of more classic styles. He accepts commissions to build his own designs or to interpret his client's needs and also produces a range of chests and other small pieces. He is committed to using timber from sustainable sources and natural finishes.
